Representing Moonlight Velo in Today's Club Race / Rain /Race / Flat / Crash / Race

Roger and Margaret G. did a nice job for their first club race today.  After the start Margaret went out and got coffee and bagels for the racers.  I on the other had did not have a great day.  I am not sure who was out today representing Moonlight Velo, as we are still in stealth mode with no kit.

I started out as one of two C racers getting  a flat in the first lap, having my front wheel slide out from under me in the second lap (luckily I was wearing an old Swami kit that I put some good holes in), rode two more laps and then decided that my body was telling me I needed to get home to lick my wounds…

Sharing / leveraging biking information

I have a thing for all things Google.  I have two projects that can be useful for North County Bike Riders = Friends of Cycling.  They are:

Calendars of events, where you can use the google calendars I have created and easily add them to your own calendars
http://moonlightvelo.org/rides-races/

The other is "Points of interest" for bike riders where I use google maps

Meeting Points of Interest in North County San Diego for Cyclist

If you ride or have friends that are learning about where to ride in North County you may find the above useful

Anyone interested in helping me with this effort?

Racers and Chasers

Greetings!

Wow what a race at Elfin Forest!!!  The conditions were excellent as we got the race off just before the rains came this week!  Thanks to all that came out and participated and most importantly had a great time!  Results have been posted on the site with overalls coming soon!

The reviews were great and the Park Rangers and I really appreciate it!  The Park Rangers have asked that you send an email to the Water District to tell them of how cool it was to allow us to race there!  They were very pleased at how the race went and how polite you all were.  It is looking very good that we could have another race there but please do send a quick email to the contact us at the Olivenhain water districtRemember to not ride the Via Ambiente which was only open for use of the race!

As many of you know by now a great friend and cyclist Yoshio Garcia was struck by a car last week.  We raised some money to send to help his medical fund at the last race.  Please take some time to send whatever you can to help him out!  Please make checks payable to Yoshio Garcia Medical Fund, 760 E Foothill Blvd, Pomona Ca 91767.

Stay tuned to have the Feb date announced ASAP!!!  I am working very hard on this and can't wait to inform everyone where it will be!

Over 800 awesome pictures from the last race can be found by clicking here.  Remember to check you schwag bags as there was lots of great stuff from the vendors including 25% off Zoic clothing.

Stay dry, Stay Safe and most of all enjoy the riding after the rains have passed!

Feb 6th Bike Rodeo at Flora Vista Elementry

Thanks for the response for the Bike Rodeo  with Cub Scout Pack 774 at Flora Vista Elementary School.  I would like us to meet at the back door of El Camino Bike Shop at 9:30am to organize ourselves.  The following people have volunteered:

Joe Pusl /  Erik C / Randy W / Dave C /

Chris E is a possible and our needed pro wrench…

We could use a few more, but we are OK.  If you want to see what these Bike Rodeos are all about but cannot meet us at 9:30 you can still come by Flora Vista until 11:30am and still give us a hand.  Email me if you want to participate

So to review:
